The EFC has publicly endorsed Bill C-268, An Act to amend the Criminal Code (minimum sentences involving trafficking of persons under the age of 18) that is currently before the House of Commons.
The amended Bill C-268 was reported back to the House of Commons for Third Reading on June 9th. On September 15th, Bill C-268 was debated in Report Stage at Third Reading. Bill C-268 will receive its final hour of debate on September 29, 2009. On September 30, the bill will be voted on at Third Reading. If successful, it will then proceed to the Senate.
