The EFC calls on Evangelicals across Canada to unite in prayer with our sisters and brothers in Europe in the wake of today’s terrorist attacks in Brussels. The following is a call to prayer issued today by the European Evangelical Alliance.
What does one say when faced with such sad news from Brussels today? Should there be many words? They do not fathom the depth of suffering, pain, mourning, anxiety, fear and insecurity caused by these bomb attacks.
The EEA calls Evangelicals across Europe and across the globe to pray for the people of Brussels who have been affected by these incidents directly. Do pray for the authorities who are asked to help and to protect. Pray for the groups of various ethnic backgrounds among whom once more the seed of distrust has been sown today. Pray for peace in the midst of divisive forces.
Pray that Jesus, the Prince of Peace and risen Lord will be able to do his work among all his people and through his people. May Christians throughout this continent be a blessing in these trying days. May they show something of the resurrection power of Easter as they are making their contribution in the midst of the hard to believe realities.
